Additional Care Information |
Begonia Rex (Painted Leave) are prone to powdery mildew that will occur if their leaves are kept wet. Avoid getting the leaves wet when watering and never mist them. Brown leaf edges can be trimmed away; this sometimes indicates that the plant requires more humidity or could be too close to a heat source. |
Troubleshooting |
The most common reason for brown leaf edges is that your begonia is extremely dry. Begonia Rex (Painted Leave) likes constant moisture so do not allow more than the top half of the soil to dry out between watering's. The opposite to this are yellowing leaves which is caused by overwatering and allowing the soil to get soggy, which can cause root rot. Prevent this by only watering then the top couple of inches of soil are dry. |
